The most irritating thing about SEO is, being a novice and thus a total alien to this technique and word, and if you fall in the same category then you may feel the pinch. The same thing happened to me, when i first came to know about the fact that its not only the quality of your writing, but also the proper search engine optimization that influences the blogs performance.
Though i am not an expert , but with time, i could make out the basic points that would surely help. So below are some simple steps that you need to take as a beginner in order to optimize your blog to get a higher ranking

Now getting a bit deeper here are some of the basic methods which will help your site crawl up the search engines pages.
Note- you don’t need to be a master in SEO technology as just with some basic points and with constant good content (articles) you can do good.
The points that you need to work upon:
KEYWORDS-
First of all target rich keywords for your post title.But be careful while doing so as with proper quantity of keywords in the title, it should remain catchy so that the reader doesn’t skip it.
Now concentrate on the body of your article as even here keywords matter a lot. Proper use (around 2%-5%) will help the search engine robots to make a judgement about your post.
Caution - Overuse will get the content neglected and under use will make the content skipped, so there should be a balance.
CONTENT-
After the Keywords lets concentrate on the content, which should be around 300 to 500 words in order to get adequately listed.
Remember that search engine spiders doesn’t see photos or videos rather their judgement is dependent upon the quality (through your inbound links) and quantity of ur content.
Work really hard on the quality of your post as its not the search engine robots rather than the people whom you are writing for. And if a reader likes your content, then in addition to a Facebook likes, you will even get some additional followers.
Now here again a balance is very much needed as short post are not preferred by the robots and the long post by the people. Its simple, just stick to the criteria mentioned above.
INBOUND LINKS-
After getting through the main two components now lets start with the third but equally essential feature that decides your fate while ranking on any search engine.
It is the inbounds links ,that are taken up as a sign of viability of the content on your website. As if reputed blogs(those already having a good ranking) links to you, then it is regarded that even your site can be trusted and thus you get one step closure towards your dream of good SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION.
Even you PR rank depends on the inbound links.
SITE MAPS-
They are the primary method of informing search engines about pages on your sites that are available for crawling.
Once you complete up with the sitemap for your blog, then submit it to Google webmasters for getting it indexed on Google.
Site maps will be of great help so don’t neglect it. If you don’t know anything about sitemaps then it may take time but try your best to get through it.
